Ostrowski Crowned King of the Track During Wally Weekend at Numidia Dragway
This past weekend was Wally Weekend at Numidia Dragway, and racers came ready to battle for some very special hardware. Across two days of competition, winners took home commemorative 75th Anniversary Crystal Wally trophies and rings, making for an exciting and memorable weekend at the track.
On Sunday, Numidia Dragway also crowned its King of the Track. That title now belongs to Jack Ostrowski, who earned the honor by defeating the always-tough Mike Fornwalt in the runoff final. Also making appearances in the King of the Track runoff were class winners Joe McCaughlin and Vanderbilt Boyce Jr.
The Junior Dragster racers enjoyed two full days of trophy competition, with classes split between the younger and older age groups. On Saturday, Aaron Frankovic picked up the win in the 6–12 age group, while Nick Rafaele claimed the 13-and-older class. Frankovic nearly pulled off a repeat Wally win on Sunday, making it back to the final before falling to Rieley Kapp, who was .008 on the tree and ran just one over the dial to take the win. In the older Junior Dragster age group, Morgan Harp took home the Sunday trophy over Sophia Zimmerman.
In Sportsman, Jeff Feiler drove his red ’72 Duster to the Saturday win over Denny Renninger. In Pro Eliminator, DJ Clark was nearly perfect on the starting line with a .001 reaction time, earning the win light over Allen Kohr Jr.
The Super Pro final featured two friends battling it out for the Wally, with Rob Croce picking up the win over Jon Northrop. Croce was .015 on the tree and dead-on with a seven, while Northrop was .009 but broke out by just .002. In Motorcycle, Derek Cesari captured the Wally with a final-round win over Danny Boyer.
Overall, it was an exciting weekend filled with great racing, close finishes, and well-earned victories. Congratulations to all of our winners, runner-ups, and everyone who came out to compete.
